What Money Manager does well
Money Manager Expense & Budget, from Realbyte, is one of the longest-running expense trackers on the App Store, with a 4.8 rating from about 17,000 reviews at the time of checking. It is quick to use and has a lot of depth for a free app.
- Fast entry. Its listing highlights quick data entry, search and a built-in calculator.
- Familiar structure. It offers multiple accounts and currencies, card tracking, weekly, monthly and annual statistics, a calendar view and budgets. It also applies double-entry bookkeeping automatically.
- Wide reach. There is an Android version, and the app supports many languages, including Bengali.
- PC access. A companion PC manager lets you view and edit data on a larger screen over Wi-Fi.
Where SampattiTrack differs
Both apps keep records by hand and do not need a bank connection. The differences are in scope and privacy.
- Investments and XIRR. SampattiTrack tracks mutual funds, stocks and gold, follows SIPs and shows XIRR. The Money Manager listing's feature list does not mention investments. See Investments, SIPs and XIRR.
- No ads, no account limits. Money Manager's free version contains ads and is limited to 10 accounts. SampattiTrack is free with no ads and no subscription.
- Data handling. SampattiTrack keeps everything on your device, with no analytics and no sign-up. Money Manager's privacy labels, which are provided by the developer, list usage data and identifiers used for analytics and advertising. If that matters to you, read the labels on the listing yourself.
- A visible ledger. Double-entry works behind the scenes in both. SampattiTrack also has a Ledger mode that shows splits, units and every posting. See Simple vs Ledger mode.

Cost, ads and limits in practice
Money Manager is free to download, so the real cost is in the details. The free (lite) version is limited to 10 accounts, which is enough for a simple setup but tight if you track several bank accounts, cards, wallets and loans. The App Store listing also describes a separate full version with ads removed, and a data sync subscription for syncing across devices. Prices on the US listing are $2.49 a month or $19.99 a year; check the listing for the price in your country.
SampattiTrack has no tiers. There is no account limit to hit, no ad to dismiss and no sync subscription, because optional sync runs through your own private iCloud. The trade-off is reach: it needs iOS 26 or later, so an older iPhone may not run it, whereas Money Manager's listing asks for iOS 15.6.
Who should choose which
Money Manager may suit you if you want a mature, quick expense tracker, you use Android as well as iPhone, you like the PC manager, or you only need simple income and expense records and are fine with ads in the free version.
SampattiTrack may suit you if you use only Apple devices, want investments and SIPs with XIRR in the same place as your spending, want no ads and no analytics, or want to keep your records on your device with optional private iCloud sync.
Switching is possible but not automatic. You can bring history across by exporting a file from your old app and using CSV import. Check the dates, amounts and direction on the review screen before you confirm.
