App Lock with Face ID or passcode
Open Settings, then Privacy & Security, and switch on App Lock to require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode each time you open the app.
Turn App Lock on
- Open Settings in SampattiTrack and find Privacy & Security.
- Switch on App Lock. The line under it says what it will require, such as Face ID, and that the app is hidden in the app switcher.
- Authenticate when iOS asks. The switch only moves once that succeeds, so nobody can turn the lock off without passing the check.
How it behaves
- It uses your device's Face ID or Touch ID, and falls back to your device passcode if biometrics fail or are not set up.
- The app locks every time you leave it, then asks again when you come back.
- Your screen is covered when the app is inactive, so the app switcher does not show your balances.
- The lock screen sits above everything, including open sheets.
SampattiTrack never sees your face or passcode. iOS does the check and only tells the app whether it passed.
Hide amounts as well
If you often open the app around other people, also switch on Hide Balances under Appearance in Settings. It masks amounts across the dashboard and accounts, so you can see the layout without showing the numbers.
Troubleshooting
Face ID does not work.
In iOS Settings, open Face ID & Passcode and check that SampattiTrack is allowed to use Face ID. Make sure your face is enrolled and the camera is not covered.
The prompt keeps appearing.
The Face ID sheet briefly moves the app to the background and back. Wait for it to finish, and tap the unlock button if it does not start by itself.
I cannot turn it on.
Your device needs a passcode set. Add one in iOS Settings, then try again.
I forgot my passcode.
App Lock uses the device passcode, so resetting it is an iOS matter. Your ledger stays on the device, and iCloud or a backup file lets you recover it after a reset.
App Lock protects the app on your device. It does not encrypt a backup file you export, so keep backup files somewhere safe.
Also private by design
There is no sign-up or login, so there is no password to leak. Your ledger stays on your device and syncs only through your own iCloud if you choose. See iCloud sync.
